Front Desk Reception/Closing Coordinator

Job description

Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner seeks to hire a front desk reception/closing coordinator, part-time for its Westerly Education Center. The coordinator is entrusted to enforce all policies and to ensure the safe operation of Westerly Education Center. The shift is 8:00 pm to midnight, Mondays through Fridays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer main telephone, assist callers, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate program staff.
  • Perform noncomplex, general clerical, word processing and office support duties.
  • Act as frontline customer service representative for Westerly Education Center
  • Assist guests by providing information and services or directing guests to the appropriate source for assistance.
  • Familiarity with computers and the internet.
  • Securing building nightly after all guests have left the premises.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Constantly stand, walk several hundred feet, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop.
  • Constantly use manual dexterity, follow directions, and adhere to detail.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, speaking, seeing, hearing, and listening.
  • Frequently use eye/hand coordination.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must pass a successful background screening. Strong communication skills. Professional appearance. References upon request. Must have a vehicle or reliable transportation.

This is a part-time position (no more than 19 hours per week) with a pay rate of $20/hour. The coordinator reports to the director and has no supervisory role.
