Alan Tenreiro and Arthur-Paul Petrosinelli Named to R.I. Board of Education, Council on Postsecondary Education
Alan Tenreiro, Ed.D. and Arthur-Paul Petrosinelli, Ed.D. were confirmed by the Rhode Island Senate to serve on the Rhode Island Board of Education’s Council on Postsecondary Education. Both were nominated by Governor Dan McKee and the terms are effective immediately.
Dr Petrosinelli, assistant vice president at Organogenesis, dedicated more than two decades of his career to public education. He served in numerous roles ranging from assistant superintendent of Johnston public schools, principal of Hope High School, principal of Roger Williams Middle School, assistant principal of Mt. Pleasant High School, and a teacher in the Providence school system. Dr. Petrosinelli earned an Ed.D. in educational leadership from Johnson & Wales University; an M.Ed. in school administration from Providence College; and a B.S./B.A. in business technology & education from Rhode Island College.
Dr. Tenreiro is president of Mount Saint Charles Academy, Woonsocket, as well as an alumnus of the high school. He previously served as principal of Cumberland High School, where he was honored as a National Principal of the Year by the National Association of School Principals for advancing student achievement, equity, and postsecondary outcomes. Prior to that, he served on the Pawtucket School Committee for eight years, including as chairman. Dr. Tenreiro serves as the co-chairman of the Rhode Island College Alumni & Foundation Board and was previously an executive board member of the R.I. Association of School Committees. He earned an Ed.D. in education leadership & education from Manhattanville University; an M.Ed. in educational leadership & administration and a B.S. in social studies teacher education both from Rhode Island College.

“Dr. Petrosinelli and Dr. Tenreiro are highly successful in their careers in public education, and I believe that that front-line experience and perspective is highly valuable to their new roles to the higher educational system in Rhode Island,” said David Caprio, chairman of the Council on Postsecondary Education. “Both earned degrees from public and private institutions of higher education and those experiences will be informative to the council and Office of the Postsecondary Education as we work to advance deeper relationships among all colleges and universities in R.I. so that we can collectively accelerate progress in preparing a future-ready workforce.”
